Welcome to 2-1-1 Panhandle Helpline

Chautauqua Healthcare Service's 2-1-1 service has been designed to strengthen the health and human service information and referral provider network in Okaloosa and Walton County, Florida through advocacy, coordination and education. Panhandle 2-1-1 offers resources for Substance Abuse and Mental Health needs in our community.

As a result of our commitment to human services in Walton and Okaloosa County, we received certifcation through the Florida Alliance of Information and Referral Services (FLAIRS) to become a 2-1-1 provider.  This certification assures that we have taken the necessary steps as an Information & Referral program (I&R) to provide the highest quality of services to the agencies and individuals we desire to serve.

Chautauqua Healthcare Services recognizes that 2-1-1 programs help individuals, families and communities identify, understand and  effectively use the programs that are part of the human service delivery system. We encourage individuals and agencies in need of I & R services in Okaloosa and Walton County to call our 24 hour Helpline at 2-1-1 or 850-892-HELP(4357).  See our Confidentiality policy for callers/clients.

Agencies offering human services may contact us to potentially be included in our growing database. Please see the Inclusion policy attached below and send an email to Panhandle211helpline@chhealthcare.org to learn more.

It's easy to see a cut or skinned knee and know what to do. Basic first aid teaches us to clean the area and apply a bandaid. What you do when it's an emotional problem is not as obvious. Now there's an opportunity to understand the emotional pain of mental illness and for those experiencing symptoms to seek help before it's too late.

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) helps to demystify mental illness and gives participants the ability to better understand what they are seeing in a youth and how to approach tem in a non-threatening manner. YMHFA is not designed to teach participants to be counselors but to help participants to recognize symptoms and assist the individual.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid course is an 8-hour course taught by  one of Chautauqua Healthcare Services' certified instructors and each attendee will received a YMHFA certificate. For information about the course or to schedule your group, call Shalene Hall at 850-892-8045 or 2-1-1.
